Founder and Principal

Michelle Choo has over three decades of experience in Mathematics education, including the Gifted Education Programme (GEP) in Rosyth School and the LSM programme. In addition to teaching, she is also an international Mathematics author, consultant and trainer.
She founded By The Roots on a simple belief: many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because key concepts were never fully understood.
Michelle believes that true Mathematics learning comes from understanding concepts, not memorising steps or doing countless worksheets. She is passionate about helping children understand Mathematics deeply and meaningfully through creative, fun, hands-on, and inquiry-based learning.
